I know there have been previous postings on this.
Hilidian and Markymark have made(?) a league for AoW3 in the battlefield site, its very nice and good and I think its great. So I suggest you guys start using it.

To complete ExNihil’s words, two very interesting features of the site are:
– statistics about the races / classes played and the winners: http://www.the-battlefield.com/aow3/index.php?page=ladderstats It will get richer as more matches are registered there
– a tool to optimize turn order for PBEM (and to choose a day when everyone is available for live MP) – still under test but almost operational –Good work!

No, it’s clearly not. The vast majority of games are live multiplayer ones, see the results there: http://www.the-battlefield.com/aow3/index.php?page=histgame
Out of 32 games played, only 3 were PBEM.It’s just that PBEM game last over several weeks/months while live games are finished in one day, so at any time, you will always see ongoing PBEM games but will probably see no live games “ongoing”. Live games tend to be directly reported to the site and thus do not appear in the “ongoing” game section.

it is good, when we can follow the old aow2 tradition with a the-battlefield.com ladderpage in aow3. Was hard work to get all improvisations (changed to dark, new function like meta-statitics and some others) after a modest start.I think when the official tournament is finished,
we shall try to organisating a new “team tournament (2on2)”. Maybe we can use it than official tournament too.Even better would be to host the tournament on such a site. Real time Stats would be awesome.

After you join, you can send a private message to all the players in the pool, to rapidly find people to play a live game.
You can also use the chat to that effect.A PBEM game was created and filled in about 24 hours. So if you want to play PBEM, there is a lot of demand there and I assume if another host created a new game, it would be filled pretty quickly too.
Stats should soon be given a boost (if Markymark agrees and has time), by displaying separately PBEM and live MP games.

– Elves are not liked: 2 players selected them (3%)
– nobody even dared to play Orcs!
– the favourite classes are: Sorcerer (26%), Theocrat (16%) and Archdruid and Warlod (14% both)
– the favourite races are: Goblin (20%), Human (17%), and Frostling and Dwarf (15% both)If you think that’s not correct and representative, please join the site and register your games there! It will help get a clearer picture of the meta! And of course you will enjoy all its other benefits such as a community of serious players, rankings, and nice tools to communicate and record your games.

Are people not using new Orcs then (open beta only iirc)?
Because, new Orcs are bloody awesome.
There has been few reports post v1.7 so it is likely that we will see more Orcs soon but pre v1.7, clearly none at all.
For PBEM, it will take some time before we see the results of post v1.7 line ups.That’s why it would be great if all the guys on Steam that do matches (Azzazir, Melciar, etc) reported their results there. We would get a better picture of what’s going on.

Orcs just lost their status of “most despised race”! Now it’s Elf and Halfling with only 7 players choosing them vs 8 for Orcs, including 3 in the first round of the PBEM Duel tournament.Heh, helped out:-)

It hosts PBEM games and live-MP games, ranked games and casual games (not played for ranking). One PBEM tournament and one live-MP tournaments are organise there. The way ranking points are gained and lost as well as the page explaining the ranking have been updated. The changes make the ranking easier to understand, reward players more for winning games involving many participants and should remove the clutter of players around 1000 points.The Battlefield is a community website for AoW3 and other games such as Civilization 5 and 6. Bumping this to say the Battlefield is still very active and you can find many players there for PBEM (and also live MP Tournaments), both beginners and veterans.
A PBEM tournament will be organized in June/July and we’re asking people what format they want to play (duel, 2vs2, 4vs4): please vote here https://www.the-battlefield.com/aow3/index.php?page=bf_poll&pollnumber=32 (you need to register on the Battlefield first if you haven’t yet).
