September 18, 2014 at 18:15 #123080I can’t see the patch on GoG. Do I need to re-download and re-install the game?

September 18, 2014 at 18:21 #123090Cool. Nice work.
September 18, 2014 at 18:31 #123100Awesome! I gotta say, the price is even lower than the minimum I had in mind (I had 15 euros in mind MINIMUM). But I’m surprised and happy it’s even lower than that! 😀
Respect for putting the work in this and keeping it quite cheap! ^^
September 18, 2014 at 18:36 #123106Can we still continue games we started in patch 1.4 after upgrading to Golden Realms without messing up stuff?

Yes. The solution is to:
1. Uninstall AoW3 (I copied all my saves in my Profile folder at Documents/My Games/AoW3 first)
2. Download AoW3 installer from GoG (about 1.6GBs) & do fresh install.
3. Download Golden Realms installer (and any additional content e.g. bonus from Deluxe edition) and install.
4. Play until dawn! 🙂

Yep, should be fine!
September 18, 2014 at 19:45 #123148On GoG i see a setup age of wonder 2.2.0.11 tagged “new”
So, all the game must be reinstalled ? Not “only” a patch ?And… i don’t see any DLC…
September 18, 2014 at 19:46 #123149Gefeliciteerd!
Biertjes tikken in Delft jongens 😉
September 18, 2014 at 20:13 #123159Already got it 🙂 I was surprised by the cheap price I rather expected about 15 bucks too. Awesome work guys! Now continue I want my necromancer 😉
September 18, 2014 at 20:36 #1231679.59$ I am surprised and here I thought it was gonna go for 30$.
Will be playing golden realms tis afternoon or night. Gotta do stuff for now! XD Already installed it!
September 18, 2014 at 21:06 #123174Gonna play over 22 minutes. download times.
September 18, 2014 at 21:15 #123175Playing the campaign now, and it’s great. The halflings are an excellent addition. Mythical City upgrades add some amazing wrinkles to the game, and and and… Yeah, just awesome work guys.
Now that GR is out, would it be possible for in a later dev journal (after all of you take a well deserved break) to outline where you intend to go from here? I’m assuming more of these mini-expansions to later fund a big expansion, but it’d be nice to have an idea of where you intend to try and go from here. (Just put big disclaimers all over it saying that you only intend to do them if you can, and that these promises are non-binding or something if you’re worried about that)
September 18, 2014 at 21:29 #123178Great work … Halflings are really fun to play. By my first look other features look wellespecially the mythical city upgrades. Going the way to have people been able to play together regardless if all have that DLC or not is a really good point too.
Early availibility of the 1.4 Beta Patch was good to.
Price of 11,99€ is more than just fair for that DLC.September 18, 2014 at 21:32 #123180Actually I kind of hope they stick to these “small” expansions, because each small addition has a high impact on overall customization and adds another strategic layer. In truth I’m not sure why this is considered a small expansion. It feels like a $25 expansion to me.
September 18, 2014 at 21:52 #123184Congratulations guys! Hope there is much more to come. AoW3 deserves it. Look at how great the Civ games were after the extra polish/content and expansions compared to vanilla. The price point is very fair as well, I was expecting higher! $15 to $20 is what I was expecting so $12 ($10 with special) is VERY fair for the amount of content in this expansion. Thank you for not being greedy; it shows the character of your studio and the respect to your fans.
Also as an idea for future content: get in contact with Michael or the composer from AoW2 (he also did an amazing job in my opinion) for a handful of extra tunes to be added with the DLC, I would love some more themed music (for example for this expansion they could have created say three songs that have a halfling theme like “halfling march”). Just a thought, since often times with DLC new music is never added and thus neglected (and the wonderful atmospheric music of AoW has always been such a big part of the experience for me).
I usually very seldom buy DLC, but I will support you guys, because I love this game and respect your studio (and believe you are also very passionate about your creation: AoW). Thanks again, and here is to more wonderful content and enhancements to AoW3!
September 18, 2014 at 21:55 #123185Phillon, there are some new Michiel Van Den Boos tracks in this expansion, just so ya know!
Speaking of which, Triumph, can we expect to see the new tracks released to Deluxe Edition owners?
September 18, 2014 at 22:05 #123189@Raven
Wow, that is great to hear and I echo your request: any way of us perhaps getting these tracks somehow Triumph? Can we extract these from the game folder somehow? I want my soundtrack folder to be complete!
September 18, 2014 at 22:06 #123190Hi. I want to congratulate for a great work. The patch was great, the simple modification of the power of the guard troops it was a ace.And the changes in the races, wow. Now the humans are a atractive race with the changes of near all is troops. I only play a little and the few I see is a tremendous improvement.
Keep doing it. Good job.September 18, 2014 at 22:47 #123210Congratulations to Triumph Studios!
I haven’t had a chance to play the new content or patch changes yet but in a way it kind of doesn’t matter – I’m just happy to see a group of developers who stand by their game and keep working on it when they don’t have to (the free patches) and continue to put out quality content for the game at prices that are more than fair.
I’ll buy the next one too.

My guess is that Golden Realms didn’t download fully before you started. Check your download queue to make sure there isn’t a pending update for AoW.
If you turned off auto updating in Steam, then that might also cause Golden Realms not to download.

in terms of content it really is more of a dlc than a full blown expansion pack. the price is fair. you get a new race (7 new racial units), 13 empire quests aka wonders / achievements (x player got building y first, give him z…no biggie), around 50 new items (you can create items on your own via item forge), a couple new monsters, a couple new locations with special effects, a couple new spells, a new specialization (4 new skills / traits to research). its an accumulation of a dozen small content additions which are bundled into this dlc. seals of power (down-ticking points while holding a location), empire quests (which are really more like wonders / achievements which are obtained by meeting a certain criteria, much like steam-achievements just with ingame boni) and some new special locations (which were already in the base game, now just a couple more and more interesting) are really some nice additions and all, but honestly if they would ask more than 10-12€ for this or rather if they would ask 20-25€ for this then i wouldn’t even bother thinking about buying it.
20-25€ (20 EUR are around 25 USD) would be 50% of the vanilla game price, so would this expansion pack increase the amount of features AND content by 50%? NO! i might be a bit reluctant towards the whole dlc ripoff-scheme many companies love to make, i personally don’t get for example why people buy for 3-5 € civs for civ5 which only add 2 new units which are really only slightly altered & reskinned units and every civ has only one minor unique trait. i guess compared to this golden realms is a huge addon, but if i would pay 50% of the base game price again then i would want an increase in terms of features & content by the same value.

I did check my download queue and there is nothing in it. Everything seems up to date when i launch it on steam. I even look at the build number when im in the game and its 1.4 and a bunch of other numbers. Also i dont have auto update turned off its always on. How would i redownload golden realms would i have to uninstall AoW3 completely then reinstall it?
