How about polar bears? Are there some in AOW arctic regions?
Anyone seen what the Frostling hero mounts look like (aside from the developers)?

Reading this we should definately have the wolf/warg riders for the frostlings!
as many warg riders as horse riders: 2 horse (human and orcs), 1 unicorn (elves), 1 pony (halflings), 1 raptor (draconians), 1 boar (dwarves) and 1 warg (goblin)….with frostling would be 2!
Now tell me why would that be a problem? especially if it is bleack wargs insted of regular wargs? There still can be lots of differences between those two (goblin/frostling) warg cavalaries.
Now we can say that horse is the most common mount as is supposed to be.
Oh and why should it be supposed to be like that? Do not see any specific reason for that (especially considering this to be a fantasy game)
But what about heroes? Aren’t you confused seeing a hero riding pony fighting another one on mammoth? For me it’s way too much of ‘asymmetry’.
Agree to that! Hero default mount should definately not be the mammoth! Of cousre The Mammoth is MUST BE special mount for all heros!!!

Well that’s a nerf for the frostling heroes since the base unit doesn’t have charge which is what all mounted units should have.
Looks like a straight choice between frost warg and mammoth.

Polar bears as a hero mount would be pretty cool, especially if accompanied by the addition of Polar Bears and Brown/Black Bears as normal monsters (And possibly added to the Archdruid summon pool).
But it is almost certainly going to be a Bleak Warg.

Because since AOW1 every race that use different mounts from horses has written in the lore “they are weird because they use this” (dwarves) or “they can’t ride horses so they use this” (lizardmen, goblins).

well and that is not true for frostlings and wolves!?!? That is specifically what is true for them as well. In the past and present most races had more than one mount type (Goblins and Frostling had the most with three different mounts each).
