This conversation has gotten really stupid and pointless… Some random people are getting bored with the game. BIG DEAL! I’m not following this conversation anymore…

AoW Series are better that HoMM, Disciples, Civ, Warlock (can’t even compete…) Kings Bounty and FE… The reason is after I played AoW, every other similar game seemed like it’s lacking something important that AoW had. It’s not that the other games are bad (except Warlock, it was boring as hell, and felt really low quality…) and you should try them if you didn’t, but for me AoW3 is current champion. Especially when I think about all those dlc/expansions that are yet to come!

I’m usually taking all auras or leadership skills (or whatever) first for my hero and than I go for the other stuff like health, dmg, def and res… I like to have heroes that make their armies stronger than armies without a heroes. That way he/she is much more than just another cavalry unit, at least in the beginning.
At lvl 15+ with some items heroes can become quite a monsters, and will definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

Azunai is right. We are working on giving all heroes resurgence which means that if you win the fight your hero will return with 35% hp. This option can be switched on in scenario’s/RMG as well but is off by default (helps auto combat a lot in MP).

And I don’t see a point of this. I mean the campaign is not a walk in the park, but it’s not that hard either, if heroes die too much on autocombat, you just have to do it manually. And I definitely don’t want this on my scenario and random mup…

Keep using the heroes, I was able to win both campaigns only because my heroes were such a monsters at the end… I even got a cannon at some point for my Commonwealth main dude (Edward or something like that…)

Limiting the T4 units to one per stack is a pretty good idea to me, because it isn’t just about how difficult is to play against T4 units. It isn’t really, you just have to spam them yourself – and that’s where the problem lies (to me at least). Because late game (60+ turns, maybe that’s changed with 1.09 patch, will see…) you almost can’t find other units on map beside heroes and T4 units (they are extinct, trampled underfoot by hordes of T4s!)
And I don’t have to tell you how boring it is when you play dreadnought and the last surviving AI is… dreadnought! Bunch of landships against other landships, turn and turn again…

So yeah, limiting them 1 per stack is great thing in my book! I have no idea if that is doable by the devs, but still as an Idea it is great!

This line of reasoning is incredibly stupid.

T3 units have far more variety and far more counters than avaliable to them than compared with T4s and lower tiered units are perfectly able to compete with them on a far larger scale than against T4.

    I agree with this completely.

The best T4 solution though is to simply not take 100-200+ turns to beat a map.

But I can’t agree with this 🙂 I love playing on super huge maps, and prolonging the battle for days…

I hope you are right, current situation is laughable at best. I once won a fight with 1 Horned God against ~10 archers (tier 1? 2 maybe…) Which means that T4 is worth approximately 10 T1s. T1 takes 1 turn to create, t4 takes 2-3 turns to create… And upkeep is something funny, like 30gp per turn. As I said… laughable…

Best solution is variety, add more T4s, in particular, racial T4.

Because it is so easy, time and budget friendly! I can already see the devs jumping to do just that…NOT!

What we need is a solution now, not a possible solution with the next expansion!
And so what if there would be T3 spamming after? Difference in power between T2 and T3 is not that great like between T3-T4…

Just give it a rest guys! This game is out for only 15 days, ofc it will be unpolished. Hell, HoMM6 had to take hundreds of patches before it started being playable, and the game still suck… At least the AoW3 is a good game from the start.
I’m not saying that you are wrong, it would be nice if there is more diversity, it would be nice if there are wonders, or if there is limited number of buildings you can build in each city (so you must think, for a change, what to build), it would be nice if there is culture or resource trading (TW style)…
But the only thing that must stop is T4 spamming… It is ridiculous realy! Imagine AoM Titans where every second unit is Titan!
But I have faith in the devs, I’m sure they too see the prob. and will fix it in patches to come.

I have a even better idea (IMO OFC :P) Instead of turning T4 units on/off why not make them limited per player, the way heroes are limited?
Make that 1-20 T4 units per player, I know that I would play with no more than 5…

The game looks/feels great! I can’t wait for patches/dlc/expansions with even more stuff 🙂
The only thing I’m disappointed with is that there is no description/story for heroes, and I was quite looking forward to reading it…

Depending on the level, AI have strong economic bonni, so they probably just made the independents an offer they couldn’t refuse.

That is ok only when I also have a chance to make the city join me by giving them lots of money. But when I have to do some quest to get the city, and the AI doesn’t but instead it can just buy it while I’m IN THE MIDDLE OF THE QUEST to obtain that same city, that is just not cool…

2, 3, 6 and 12 are something that is bothering me as well, and should really be fixed IMO.

I even have one more bug (or whatever) to add – I’m unsure how AI is acquiring cities from independents (is it buying them or getting them for free) but I’m really pissed when I waste 7 turns trying to get to some watchtower or something to raze it so the independent city will join me, and then my AI ally just decide take it away from me (and not by conquering it mind you)

Wtf?! At least make it so that he (my ally AI) must do the same thing as me, so that we must race to the destination to kill/raze the objective. Or make it so that when one is on quest to obtain a city, nobody else can talk to it (and especialy not to buy it! If I don’t have that luxury, but have to go to the edge of the world for some crap, so must other players!)

Don’t make the mistake of thinking those alterations would be an easy deal, the way you suggest would make for quite an investment from a dev perspective.

I don’t think it would be so hard to make them. After all most of them don’t require new animation or are already in the game (teeth, horns, ears, beard, reptile scales texture), and if they implement only this (forget about wings and stuff like taht) the Warbreed would already look a lot better than before. Ofc, with difference in size also.

Did I ever said they have to be pretty? No. I said they need to be different. And I do expect elf-ogre to be slender than ork-ogre.
Draconian bards look different than human bards. Goblin succubus looks different than elven one, and so on… It isn’t too much to ask for a different looking warbreed, especially if it’s achievable with a little effort.

This happened to me when I started taking his cities turn after turn… Without guild of thieves or anything, so I presume AI does that to prevent all his “easy to conquer” cities falling to enemy hands. But that doesn’t include his throne city, for me at least…
